Being a Christian Have Several Advantages

It is getting harder and harder for people to find peace and joy in this modern world. Nowadays, people usually have some stress from school or the workplace. They usually choose other ways to release stress like drinking alcohol, smoking, or even taking drugs. However, these solutions often make people getting worse and also can not really solve the problems. Therefore, being a Christian may bring some advantages to those people. There are three reasons such as changing the way you look at life, extending social contact, going to heaven after death.

First, being a Christian can change the way you look at life. In the church, you can listen to preacher during the worship and also pray to God. For example, you can not only learn moral concept and knowledge from preacher and Bible but also pray to God for everything about life no matter it is god or bad. Talk to God can make your life getting peaceful and wonderful. Also, out of the church, you can think about your behavior as a Christian and follow the rules of Bible and righteous that you learned and believe in. For instance, this world is full of temptation and evil, so you can help yourself by using knowledge that you learned from church. And you can also pray to God when you feeling sad or helpless because God can help you through those sufferings.

Second, you can extend your social contact.You will meet brothers and sisters in the church. There are large members in the church and some of them are Christians for a long period .Therefore, they are all friendly and willing to talk to you. For example, you can try to make friends in the church because it just like a small society and most of them are willing to make friend with you too. You may meet someone new during an evangelization. As a Christian, you need to preach to someone who lived without religious or who needed help, and then you can make friend to those people because Christians are with love and consideration.

Finally, you will go to heaven after death. You need to repent to God and baptized and follow the Bible because in (John 3:5) “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” and (Acts 2:38) “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “You can also avoid punishment and have eternal life. In (John3:15-21) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

I believe that being a Christian can help you to change your life getting well with love and hope. Also, you can extend your social contact by the church that you never had before and you will be happiness during those experiences. And the most important is being a Christian can bring you to heaven after death. So why don’t you come to our church and see it is true or not.

33What are you going to do over the 3 day weekend?

I do not have any plan for the three days weekend, but I will go to church on Saturday is for sure. We usually do not have a plane for weekend but sometimes there will have something unexpected. For the three days weekend, I might spend most of my time on sleeping.

This is my first thanksgiving in United State and there are three things that I most thankful. First, I want to thank for my parents because hey offer this opportunity that I can study aboard .They always offer everything that I want. Second I want to thank for our teachers because they help me to improve my English so well. Finally, I want to thank God because he makes my life so wonderful.

Being Myself

Nowadays everybody always care about what people think of them more than what they think of themselves, but I am the person who content just being myself. The first and most important thing is I can show my personality. I don’t like to be a doll and just accept or listen to everyone’s suggestions and just follow what they said. Second, it is really tire for me to think about what strangers would think of. I can not control their mind but I can control my own, so I don’t care about what they think. Finally, being myself can make me live happier. I don’t need to spent time on those things because I have my own decision to do it or not.

I did not do go to the Halloween party on Saturday because I went to a friend’s house to watch movie. We watched and that is a .I think “Transformer “is a movie which designed for children before I watched, but after 2 and a half hour I feel that I am totally wrong and I am regretful that I did not watch it in a theater. After the movie, we played cards and watch sports channel until midnight.

The Ring

A student, Mary, wanted to rent an apartment, so she walked all day long and finally found an old apartment. She decided to rent it because it was cheaper than the others. She moved into the apartment and settled everything as usual. One week later, she had a worker install a telephone line. However, she found that the phone didn’t work well. She couldn’t call for anyone and the phone never rang. So she decided to all a repairman to fix the phone line, but at the same time she got a phone call from an old lady who asked to speak to someone named Lucy. Mary told her that she had the wrong number. After that day, the old lady kept calling every night at the same time and always asked for Lucy. One day at midnight, the phone was ringing again. Mary finally couldn’t stand it, so she decided to pull the wire from the wall. She immediately moved the sofa away and looked for the plug. However, after she found it, she noticed that the wire was not plugged in. Mary wondered how this was possible. Then the phone rang again. She nervously answered the phone. The old woman asked for Lucy. Mary asked who Lucy was. The old woman said, “Look behind you.”

I will go to Bellagio to see water show and walk on the street during the night if I go to Las Vegas. And there are have an indoor amusement park, it sounds really special to me. You can wear red cloth or red underwear if you want to win a lot of money and this is Chinese usually believed in. I like to play Poker. This is a new game for me and I learned it when I came to United State. It is fun and fresh to me so you may try it.

Compare and Contrast Two Sports

Although baseball and softball are similarly in many ways, there are quite a few differences. One difference is the size of ball. Baseball usually used the smaller and harder ball then softball. So when you play softball, you need to change the way when you thought the balls. The second one is the size of playing field. Baseball has larger playing field than softball. Therefore, softball has seven rounds per game but baseball has nine rounds. Finally, baseball player can do base stealing but softball player can not. In conclusion, thought there are several differences between baseball and softball, lots of people still enjoy playing it.

McDonald's and Subway are two kinds of popular fast food. Although they are similarly in many ways, but there are some difference between them. First Subway is fresher than McDonald's because Subway usually uses fresh vegetable and bread is baked daily. Second, Subway is more health than McDonald's because Subway tells customer how to reduce fat, to Increase fiber and calories sodium. Finally, Subway has good service because they usually asked customers what they want and also have friendly attitude when they served. And those meals are made for each customer for what they asked.

Spaghetti is one of my favorite dishes. First you need to prepare a can of spaghetti sauce, onion, pork, tomato, cheese, mushroom and then cut them into small cubes. Second step is cook pork and onion and put a teaspoon salt. Wait for a while until onion is getting soft then you can put all the things that you prepared in the pot. Also don’t forget to cook pasta for five minutes with hot water. Finally, wait for fifteen minutes until all things mix together then you can enjoy your meal. In summary, spaghetti is really easy if you can follow these steps.

It is difficult and almost impossible to lose 10 pounds in two days but here are some steps you may follow. First, you need to stop to eat anything and just dink water. Water is the most important thing than food because water has no calorie and it also can maintain our body. Second step is stop doing any exercise because after exercise you must be hungry and want to eat more things. Finally, sleep as long as you can. During sleeping, you won’t feel hungry and you can also save energy in your body.In conclusion, these three steps might work to lose 10 pounds in two days as you wanted but if there are any problems, that is not my responsibility!

A Person Who Made a Difference to Me

A person who made a difference to me is my mother. She is a great woman and I am really proud of her. She always stayed by my side no matter how bad the situation was and always encourages me not to give up doing right things so now I can have my own way. She not only gave me the best for everything that I wanted like learning different kinds of talent and skill but also educated me that people should be humble and polite. Because of her, I become a Christian. She brought me to church when I was young so every time when I feel down or sad I can pray to God. I learned a lot from her and she made me stronger and braver so I can face any difficulties in my life. I am really appreciated that I have a mother like her. She made me become an independent woman so I can do my best to reach my goal. In conclusion, my mother is the most important person to me because she made me the person I am today.

There are Three Types of People in This World

There are three types of people in this world First, they are optimistic. They always are opposite when they have problems. They seldom spent their time on worry what would happen next or being sad. The other one is pessimistic. They usually think about bad result when they having a problem and can not help themselves out of it. Finally, some of people combine both optimistic and pessimistic just like me. I can be a really optimistic person when I believe the problem is the one that I can solve or deal with. But sometimes I also can turn into a pessimistic person. If I think that problem is no way I can do or in the worst situation, then I would be really upset and no matter what my friends said and I still can not listen to them. To sum up, those three types of people represent our society, everyone have their own style to face the problem and no one can judge it is good or bad.

We usually spent money on buying presents to each other or go out for dinner. If you are single, you can spent more money on yourself. In conclusion, being single might be a good way for our life.

My Most Embarrassing Moment

My most embarrassing moment was happened when I was in high school. On of my best friend told me a bad news about her pet dog before the class starting. She told me that her pet was died suddenly in last weekend. She told me that how they buried her pet in their back yard and she looks so sad and says she cry a lot and can’t stop missing her pet. During that time, I was crying and my classmates were shocked and asked my friend what happened to me. I really want to dig a hole and put my head into the ground just like an ostrich. So that is my most embarrassing moment in my life because I believe that some of my classmate might think I am crazy.

Halloween is a special day in U.S. and other countries on October 31.In Ireland, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand they also celebrate for Halloween. People usually do some special activities like wear costume to visit their neighbor’s houses and play trick-or-treating for candies or watching horror movies during that day.” All Hallow Eve” is the original words for Halloween, and they also believe that those spirits form dead people will come back in the end of October so they need to do something to scare away ghosts.

My Weekend

I am a Christian so I usually go to church ever Saturday. But in this weekend, I go to church on both Saturday and Sunday because this weekend is our Spiritual Convocation. And I have made a testimony in our church in Saturday afternoon. This is about why I believe in Jesus and also my family. During that time I was really nervous before I go on the stage, but after I prayed to God and he made me feel comfortable so I can placidly talk to everyone about my testimony and I ‘m really glad that I have this chance to let everyone knows about God works. At night we also sang a hymn of praise to God. Although I can not go to Universal Studios with you all, but I still have a nice weekend.

My Bedroom

My bedroom is white with brown wood floor so when I entry my bedroom, there is a full size bed in the center and decorated by dark blue counterpane and light blue bed quilt and also white pillows. Behind the bed is a white small table that I usually put a clock and a table lamp on the top. I also have a blue desk against the wall and a black computer chair is in front of my desk and both desk and chair are on the right hand side. All of our furniture is from IKEA. My bedroom also attached a walk-in closet 、 bathroom and a French window because it is main room in this apartment. They are all around my bed. Bathroom and walk-in closet are next to each other and my favorite French window just next to my bed. So I like my bedroom really much.

My home country is Taiwan, so wedding in my country is really special because we usually combine American and Chinese wedding style. In the morning we usually held the wedding in a church just like in USA, all of our family and friends are sitting in the church to bless for the couple. After the wedding, we usually have a Chinese style banquet held at a hotel for dinner in evening. We have traditional Chinese food and play some games to make fun at the banquet and that is another way to bless to them.

The Legal System Work in My Country

In our country, we have a judge, lawyer, prosecutor, secretary, counsel and bailiffs in a court. Except jurors, we are as same as United State. After layer and counsel had controversy, the final decision will made by judge. If the decision is acceptable to the accused, they can ask for a second appeal but this is only for common pleas. If this case is criminal suit then sometimes they can not have right for asking for a second appeal. But before the judge make the decision, I believe that they have prepared every evidence to proof that person is guilty.

What Is a Friend

From my point of view, I think a friend is not only need to be a person who I can talk with but also need to be humor .And the most important thing is be honest to me.First of all, I always like to share my feeling with my friends, so usually we don’t have too much secret between us. Also, we would like to talk to each other about our life and everything we experienced. During these times we talked, we usually make jokes to each other for fun and that really help us relaxing. Sometimes we talked about serious or sadness problems, my friend can help me to comfort my feeling a lot. Finally, I believe a friend need to be honest to each other because that is basic requirement to me. And that is only way to make our friendship everlasting.

My Dream Vacation

For my dream vacation, I want something special and unique. So I want to go to Africa for my dream vacation. It is an attractive place for me because I like animal so much no matter they are carnivorous or herbivorous animal. I usually watch National Geographic and Discovery channel in my free time so I learned some information about them. I want to go there to see whether it is the true or not as TV reported. For me, Africa is a most mysterious place and it is a developing country and there still keeping more nature environment than other countries.

On Friday afternoon, we held a birthday party for a friend of mine and she is ALP student too. This is a surprised party so she thought we were going to have dinner and then go to the concert together. We prepared everything and waiting for her so when she came in, she really got a big surprised and she looks so happy. We sing birthday song for her and then asked her to make three wishes. After that she opened every presents and read the birthday card from us and she said “thank you” for thousand times. We talked a lot and I am glad they invited me to this party because I really have a good time and the most important is she feels warm in here. Lot of people around her and also sing birthday song for her so she is not alone.

An Unforgettable Experience in My Life

An unforgettable experience in my life was a magnitude 7.3 earthquake in Taiwan on 1999. It happened at mid night around 2 o’clock and we were fall asleep during that time. In the beginning when the earthquake started, I thought that was my sister trying to lie down on bed so the bed moved, but suddenly I heard my father shouted “earthquake, get up everybody” .Soon, we were trying to find a shelter if the house fall down so we may have opportunity to survive. It was so terrible because the house was jumping and we even can not stand, and then after few minutes it stopped. All of us were terrified and we can not go back to sleep until morning. Finally, this earthquake cause at lease 2000 people died and thousand of people lost their house. This earthquake is the most unforgettable experience in my life

My favorite season

My favorite season is winter because we usually have long vacation in winter time like Chinese New Year. In these days, all of my families will comeback to my grandmother’s house and having a great dinner together just like Christmas. And after dinner, we usually played games and fireworks even most of us are adults. And also because we have long vacation so we usually go traveling to another country like Japan. And I believe that winter can make people get closer so I feel winter even warmer than summer. And that is why winter is my favorite season.

My favorite sport

My favorite sport is baseball but never played it. I just enjoyed watching the games on TV. And the reason why I liked baseball is because a player named Chien-Ming Wang. He is a amazing baseball player that I know because he made Taiwan become a well know country. And the most important thing is his baseball skills are really good and adroit. He also donated some money for helping those children who eager to have baseball team in the country side. Even he becomes so famous but he never forgets his home country and he also let everyone know that Taiwan is different from China.

My name is Maggie from Taiwan. There are five family members in my house including parents and an older sister and a younger brother. I lived in Taipei city and it is a really convenient place that I liked so much. I’ve had bachelor degree major in applied foreign language and this major is for learning business skills in English and some some computer skills. I love pets so much so I have two cats and a dog in my house in Taiwan, and the reason why I loved is because they can make me happier and more relaxing when I feeling down. I am easy going and friendly so I am glad to be here to meet everyone!
